The holiday paradise Latsch-Martell
The Valley Martell is one of the most ancient side-valleys of Val Venosta. Crossing the ruins of Castle Montani di Sopra, it goes from 950m a.s.l. up to the 3700m of the Cevedale mountains. The changing natural landscape ranges from luxuriant grazing-land trough strawberry plantations reaching as high as 1700m, to the greens fields, to end with the peaks of the ice-capped Ortles group. A perfectly matching cultural landscape which has built-up throughout centuries, with its wooden-slat roofed cottages and weathered field fencing, the chamois and roo-deer, the Rhododendrons and the White Carlines, wait for the visitors of Parco Nazionale dello Stelvio, where most of our Valley is comprised. A wide range of sports and countless comfortable inns complement the hiking possibilities. Even in wintertime it is perfect for those who love quite, pureness, wilderness! Superb cross-country ski and biathlon tracks, a night-lighted natural toboggan slope, a ski-jumping board (25m), skating ring, winter hiking, and some among the most beautiful ski-ways of the Cevedale massif at the end of the valley. Pure winter it I not just an expression, here, but endless quiet bordering on adventure.
